Tom Scheckel Retires

Thomas J. Scheckel, the founder and owner of Scheckel Construction, Inc. in Bellevue, Iowa, retired this past month after over 40 years in the road construction business. He auctioned off his equipment with Richie Bros. Auctioneers on Friday, June 24th. Tom sold over 100 items including 23 motor scrapers, 18 crawler tractors, 16 dump trucks, and much more. He was pleased with the overall sale, specifically with the high dollar amount that his 631E scrapers brought. The auction was located next door to and on the J.J. Scheckel facility. Following the auction Tom's wife Pat, and children, Josh (Angie) Scheckel, Jake (Ashley) Scheckel, and Casey (Jason) Veach threw him a retirement party at the Off Shore Event Center in Bellevue with dinner, drinks, and dancing.
